My main collection is coins But I collected football cards up until last year, that market is impossible.

I also collect European books from the 1600's-1799 My main focus is the ones that speak of overthrowing kings and becoming a democracy or books written during the enlightenment with an enlightenment theme.

 

I became an accidental collector of charm bracelets and charms as well as unique lighters. I seem to always find them on the ground or floor.
I guess after today's haul I am now officially a collector of medals as well as coins.

I got totally lucky on this Wittnauer Wild West sterling set from 1972 today. I paid less than 50% melt for these 34 medals off of Craig's List.
I still have to find 2 more medals to complete the entire set.

 

Wow... those are some really nice looking medals....very cool stuff.

 

I collect license plates, coins + banknotes.

 

I'm also a marble fanatic. The glasswork can be interesting and complex at times. I'm particularly fond of boulders...bigger size can make for some nice art inside. Besides coins, marbles are the only things I try to keep an eye out for at flea markets and garage sells.

A few weeks ago I stared to collect stamps.

 

Those are so very nice. I am sort of afraid of CriagsList, and ebay. I guess I have missed out on some neat medals. Thanks for posting the pics. They are all so very special. I like the theme!

 

License plates and banknotes - very good.

My husband use to collect old motorcycle plates. He has owned many of them. Most had unique codes, such as engine type - meaning only other serious motorcycle riders would understand.

Aside from all my different coin collections (US, British, Australian, Mexican, Canadian, world type, world birthyear, composition, counterstamped, love tokens, encased, elongates, and more) I collect numismatic reference books, Hawaiian exonumia, dice, memorabilia relating to the American Numismatic Association, coffee cups, numismatic related paperweights, Star Trek ephemera,

I have collections of, but don't actively add to, refrigerator magnets, precious stones (a collection consisting of a single 22.4 carat Australian opal), a single baseball card (1958 Mickey Mantle All-Star), keys (more of an accumulation),

The only thing complete is my Star Trek DVD collection. All series and movies plus Trekkies and Trekkies 2.

Began with Coins and shortly after that stamps were added in the mid 70's
dropped the stamps when they started making them for every odd occasion.

started collecting firearms in 82 collection grew very quickly to way too many
then a buddy of mine talked me into opening a firearms shop. Bad mistake!!
turned a hobby into a business. Business was phenomenally successful, Killed my passion for the hobby. My 17 year old now has more firearms than I do.
Then authentic Japanese swords, that one did not last long, just lost the passion. I only ended up keeping one, a World War II Officer's Sword for my son,the rest were traded for cars.
began collecting cars. really liked late 70's Firebird's had two Firefird's two Firebird TransAm's and 1 Formula Firebird. One of the TransAm's had to make a full frame under her because the 454 engine I put in her wanted to twist the body on launch. WAY TOO MUCH FUN:hail:
One of my favorites was a 58 Chevy Biscayne two door with the original 327 engine in near mint condition. Got Married and when my son was on the way decided to down size to Motorcycles (Much easier to store)
now we are down to just three motorcycles mine 97 Honda ACE 1100 from a buddy,my wife's 05 Honda Aero 750 Bought new Crated and my son's 04 Yamaha R6 600 got for him the spring after he turned 14. Been real interested on old mini-bikes lately ran across a Late 60's early 70's chopper mini-bike with a 5 horse engine that was licensed by Harley-Davidson.
(Probably during the horrible AMF Days of Harley)Frame has painted a few times Thank Goodness no one painted the motor. I remember seeing only one like that when I was growing up. Still trying to track down the manufacturer of that piece. And all through all of that The Coins were always there and will probably always will be. For me it is all about fun and passion for any hobby. The passion for coins has always been there.

I won't lie. I'm quite envious.

 

It's not a big deal really. Just takes money. I started buying them in 2002 and finished some time last year.
