1964 Nickel - Error or Acid Dipped?

    Good morning folks! My dad pulled this out of circulation and asked me if I could get any information on this nickel. It is about half the width of a normal nickel. I told him I thought it was messed with, but he wanted a confirmation. I do not have a scale, but here it is! Thank you for your thoughts.

    That is a good question.... One day I will need to buy a scale. My wife has a kitchen scale and I will see how minutely it will weigh. I will post what I find tomorrow.

    You don't need to buy a scale to weigh this specific coin,
    but having a good scale would be helpful if you don't have
    one.

    The weight on this nickel is meaningless

    I agree Fred. The only reason I brought up the scale was to help the OP use some deductive reasoning.
