I keep ever star note I find, regardless of condition. Some are brand new, others are slightly or well circulated. I find it an easy way to save money. Just tuck it away and never use it.
The 1st line I read from this is if my star note doesn't end in A then it isn't a star note....? I don't understand
This is the second star note I have found. I'm doing the same as you, just gonna hang onto them just because.
I have not saw such an old 5 in a very long time. I remember thinking how fake and odd looking the new currency was when I was using these 5's lol
The “star” used to designate a replacement note is solid on all Silver Certificates, Legal Tenders and older Federal Reserve Notes.
All 1928 to 1934D stars were filled in. That was just the font they were using at the time. All non FRN's and FRBN's had the star first instead of last.
The first notes to used the smaller star that is not filled in, were $1 series 1935 notes. FYI, most large size star notes were not filled in, except for the earliest $1 1899 SC's.
