Hopefully they'll pass over his sister, Princess Ann.

This is almost a British tradition. If you want a hole filler for the Edward VIII spot in your collection, there are many privately issued “coronation medals” available. None of them are official. Here is one of them.

Royal swag has always been a money maker for the UK. I recall being a kid in Canada my mum going to a china shop where every company had a tea cup with QEll on it. As well Christmas decorations, I know mum had a tea cup dont know what became of it... Branding is the way of the world no matter what ones selling.

The continued, very existence of the royal family amounts to little more than commercialism. The fact that they continue to be on legitimate coinage for their entirely ceremonial positions is strange, let alone nik naks.

Good Lord...another Cherdism that I am anxious to pass on to the neighborhood. So insightful a teachable moment rarely graces the human psyche.

Almost forgot...IBTL. It will occur, given previous driving on the Cherd Highway Path to Disappearing Threads.

And now, for a very timely and funny advertising in the neighborhood this morning. A plethora of little plastic signs appeared at almost every traffic light intersection, announcing a sale of Welsh Corgi Puppies. I can attest with honor and truth that the good people of this area of the Earth would consider a free one, if it can be trained to herd the livestock.

Rest assured that this sudden influx of the birth of Welsh puppies in the western MD. mountains is only because of the doggy fornication rate increase generated by the Fall mountain air, and is not in any manner related to recent news from the land of our previous masters.

If it occurs, then it will be because you react to simple statements of opinion in a way that escalates things to confrontation.

Is this your mission now? To chase me around, criticize my posts, and bother the "neighbor" with dubious reports of rule violations? Surely you have better things to do.

Might be worth getting a coin or two of Charles III. Hard to say how many will be made considering his age...

Good thinking, and to add to the thought, I wonder if the present exchange rate influences the timing decision of when to mint same, whether up or down. A 15-20% present exchange rate favoring the USD is interesting.

It will be interesting to see how long it will take to print, mint new money as well postage,as well recall the circulation of images of QEll. I imagine that the UK like us also has a stash of printed notes in reserve for a means of currency for a post nuclear war needs.
Charles time on the throne will most probably be short...do to age as well health reasons. I see Wiliam crowned before my lifes end.
Which I do believe will be a better chance for the royal family to surrive .
One can see how much they the Brits do respect and care for their royal family...but its going to take a uniter to keep the crown in place.
I honestly believe that majority of the subjects find more favorable views of William than Charles, and Andrew,
I was glad to see that he wasn't allowed his military uniform to be wormed, as Harry wasn't either....leaving the royal family punishment doesn't seem equal to being a person accused of raping a
    Young girl !
And yes true never proven guilty of such...but where theres smoke theres fire.

Becoming "King" is like winning the lottery jackpot after playing it your entire life, in a way. With both, winning the jackpot after paying it for 37 years or becoming "King", you'd be like "Why couldn't this have happened when I was young enough to really enjoy and have some real fun with it". At least that's how I see it.

This media announcement on the subject was quoted by @BasSWarwick in a different section of the forums. By the sound of it, New Zealand, at least, isn't in any hurry.

"There is no immediate impact on New Zealand’s banknote and coins designs and cash use as a result of a change in Sovereign. All existing coins and $20 banknotes in circulation featuring Queen Elizabeth the Second remain legal tender. It will be several years before we need to introduce coins featuring King Charles the Third, and longer until stocks of $20 notes are exhausted."

Is it standard practice for coinage of the previous ruler to be recalled? Or to be demonetized? If so, then it seems like a strange thing to do.

To be honest I have never believed that Charles wanted the job...He accepts his Destiny and will do as required. But I truly believe that he rather continue at the causes he caterers to....and not need to be something that in his heart of hearts doesnt want.

I believe that in a few years his health issues will have him step aside and allow William to save the crown.
Things have changed times have changed...and its going to take a young smart leader to be at the helm.
