Go to the bank and ask for them. Most will order them by the box ($500) at a time.

    Hello,

First concerning the Redbook. YES! As a new collector, it is very helpful with many areas of this wonderful hobby. Many on here will say, buy the book before the coin. This is one piece of advice i am so glad I have taken.

Concerning Kennedy halves, you should check out local coin shops, bank rolls (yes you can find some nice ones), and there are alot of great on line auctions as well beside ebay.

    Here are a few:

Hope that helps. i am sure others will let you know of a lot more sites.

    Regards,

yeah i agree to check out your local banks, last friday I received a 1964 and 1966 half and that was from just one teller. I plan to go back today to look for more.

Redbooks are essential to own imho. at least one recent one anyways, just for rough ballpark value of coins and to help id errors, etc.

As far as getting Kennedy half dollars- THE BANK!
    Last year I found 80 90% Kennedy half dollars and 1,460 40%s
I paid .50 for each of them.

Most local coin shops have a discount box or half off box. You should vist them and see what they have.

I picked a set of Kennedy proofs 1969 to 1979, and SMS Kennedys 1966&67 for half of the listed price on the flips.

$40 worth of proofs for $20.

I placed them in snap lock holders from the 2x2 cardboard flips they were in, for protection.
