I have finally found my very first indisputable error coin while search through a bag of un-searched wheats last night. Not in the best condition but my best find so far:hail:

I hate to tell you this but i dispute you error claim! A repunched mint mark is not an error, it is a variety as it occurs on EVERY cent minted by that die.

Finding your first error, variety or whatever coin is always a thrill you'll remember for a long time. Enjoy it, and keep on searching. There are many worthwhile coins to find.

Nice spread.I consider it a Mint error, and variety, the error is the fact the mint worker made an error and tried to fix it,and it was only on that specific die, which may or may not have been used for a short or long term, variety in the fact it isnt the only type for the year.nice find.

That cent was found in a bag of 2500 unsearched wheats. I was in the process of separating the bag into teens , twenties , thirties , forties , fifties , steels , "S" mint marks & IHC's. I got a whole bunch of good stuff out of that bag and filled many holes in my wheat collection and upgraded many of my existing coins. I use a magnifying glass that has a 3x spot within the 2x field and then a 10x spot in the handle. I use a Logitech HD 9000 pro webcam in macro mode to view the coins on my LCD without having to use the magnifying glass.

When some folks turned me onto CopperCoin.com , I discovered that there were many many varieties that I never would have thought to look for.
Fortunately I saved all my wheats and they are already sorted by decade.

Believe me , I will be re-searching my wheats as I continue to gain knowledge.
