Any help trying to give a date, denomination and where exactly these are from would be great! Thanks! Sorry I couldn’t get the pics to rotate.
On the envelope they came in it is labeled from what it looks like as “French Colonial”. I was wondering if these are from Vietnam?
Annam (Vietnam), 1 phan. Inscription is Thuong Nguyen Thong Bao. This is listed in Toda in the "doubtful" section, post-1600. Here's a page showing (an inferior) specimen: http://www.moneta-coins.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=737&title=thuong-nguyen-thong-bao&cat=682
I have some Chinese coins, but I never tried to identify them. I bought in Lots with other coins and haven't touched them since.
I identified one some time ago, but the work was very hard, that's why I left the others there, forgotten. The coin was identified as "CHINA CASH - HSUAN TSUNG AD 1821/1850 5-1512" But, who knows... could be a good idea. I have 15 of them.
A website I came across many moons ago that really helps with ID'ing CHinese cash coins. https://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/china/chinaid.htm
