Hi, Just under VG-8 as half the lines in the skirt must be evident on the left side of the coin. This is based on the clarity of the pic. It may be better, but I can't see it. Still not much better than VG-8 and definitely cleaned. Have Fun, Bill
I believe it's a strong F15 or VF20. Grading Walkers can be tricky. The reverse has enough detail for the VF. The feathers show, the breast is strong. The obverse is marginal for VF. Liberty's breast may not have enough detail (it's tough to tell from a photo) but the sandal, stars in the flag and overall devices are pretty good. Of course, if the coin's been cleaned, that would knock it back. Houston_Ray
Hi, All skirt lines must be evident for an F-12 designation. They are not. Breast is worn almost flat. I wish I could see a clearer pic. Have Fun, Bill
VG10/F12 maybe, but with the cleaning and that date most sellers would classify it as junk silver. Nicer coins of that date and MM can be had for just over melt.
Thanks guys and yes It has been cleaned pretty good. That's the way I got It. Which really sucks!! B12
Hi, The total consistency of color on a worn coin. It's very unnatural. Also, the remainder of "dirt" residue seen in the recesses of the details and some of the nicks indicates that the dirt was cleaned off the surface. Surface rubbing sometimes leaves the dirt in the recesses. Top that off with the "shiny" look to all the flat and worn high points of the coin and you have some classic signs of a cleaning. Have Fun, Bill
41 Walker The cleaning was probably done some time ago. I'm not really a good grader person so I'd just say it's good. I'm so old that when I first started collecting there were only G, F, UNC and Proof coins. My first Red Book is edition 8 and I've got all since. I'm not a G8 or 10 or whatever. It's in what I call G. However, as soon as you get tired of it just send it to me.
I see, it’s too clean given the amount of ware. and dirt remaining in the recessed parts. good to know
what tipped me was the strange shinyness. A coin with that much wear will only be that shiny if something has been done to it.
