    Looks cool.

Those medals were originally part of the 1993 Philadelphia Set, which also contained a $25 gold eagle, a $10 gold eagle, a $5 gold eagle and a $1 silver eagle. The set is listed as the 1993 Bicentennial Gold Set on page 342 of the 2010 Red Book.

Here's a current auction for the full set:

Here's an eBay guide about it that has some good information:

Harumph. That's what I get for not paying attention to gold sets.

Is $1,500 high or right about on, for that set? Seems a bit high to me, but never saw this as a set prior to this (musta been under a rock). I HAVE seen these silver medals offered on Teletrade, however.

The set is listed at $1500 bid and $1550 ask in the latest Greysheet I have around (Jan 22, 2010). Gold was about the same price per ounce at the time so it seems like a fair price.

The US Mint did not make that coin.

Biggest give away it's not a genuine US Mint production, no date.

if the Mint didn't make it, who do you think made it and inserted it into a US Mint 1993 gold set then??

What makes you say so? Just curious. The mint produces many medals without a date. I will say this. I was skeptical that this was a genuine mint medal for the simple reason that medals produced at the Philly mint don't carry mint marks.

[IMG]That is very cool medal Jarrett, and seems a good price as the have been in the $80-120 range on Teletrade in PR69DCAM

Question all. Is there a definative book out there for modern mint medals? The best I can scare up is copyrighted 1970.
