Not that I have any intention of selling it or its cousins but anyone have any idea what this would be worth? Denomination: 5 Pounds Obverse Designer: Ian Rank-Broadley Reverse Designer: Robert Evans Alloy: Sterling.925 silver with the Queen's Portrait highlighted in 22-carat gold Diameter: 38.61mm Weight: 28.28gms Quality: Proof Issue Limit:20,000
Strange, it's not listed in the 2010 Krause, but the 2000 £5 with the same gold highlights is listed at $47.50. The 2000 mintage is 32,000, but the difference shouldn't have much impact on value. I'd say you'd be looking at an ebay final bid of around $25-30 if you were selling.
$25-$30.....much to low to not hang onto that beauty for a few more years until the value goes up. P.S. Do I see doubling on the reverse? I think it is evident on the two top soldiers/guards, as there appears to be one standing in front of another.
I agree since its lower than the issue price. I did not expect to make money on it but I had hoped it would at least maintain its value
I don't think its doubling I don't have the coin in hand at the moment but I remember it being high relief.
I don't think that's doubling either it's just a reflextion from that great mirror finish... There's not even dust on that thing. Nice quality...sheez
