Made a visit to my LCD on Monday . I got this little gem because it was painted, didn't look at it twice just got it. I have since looked closer.
The date of the coin is directly under the date of the elongation.
A little known American sportscar with a very low mintage.

And the name of a Numismatic author, F.G. Spadone pressed right into the elongated coin.

The 2x2 had some old "brush on" White out on it. I carfully removed to read what was covered.
On the top it says "Enclosed (unreadable) gift".

On the back is his address.

I suspect this token may have been given away by him with a copy of his book.
    Speculations abound. Make one.
    Post an elongated coin. enjoy.

Definitely a winner.... I have become a big fan of elongated coins. Here's one that I picked up an R-4 the Good year blimp 20220814_142633.jpg

I have passed this on to Jamez Motley. Jim is an old friend who is currently in the process of writing a book on elongated coins. Jim is also the same president of CONECA . So if you know the name that's the link. I do believe that Jim is an old gear head so I know he will be interested.

That’s is a nice elongated cent. Probably on the rare side.

Nice elongated. I like the numismatic-automotive link.

I believe this was a competitor of the early Corvettes and Thunderbirds.

Cool connection to Frank Spadone. I used to have a copy of Spadone's Major Variety and Oddity book as a kid. Read it until the pages fell out of the binding

I have done a bit researching and came up with this elongated coin.
It also has the name of F.G.Spadone, and it is painted.
Note the FS near the catch tab. Found in San Francisco, CA.
