Interesting. Based on just that one item, I suspect you have a collection many of us would like to see. Totally out of the area of my knowledge.
One of these days I'll get around to putting a web page together, but for now I don't think I have any of them photographed. I'll have to dig some out and put them on here. Give me a while, I've been in the process of digging out everything that's been accumulating over the last few years, and sorting thru it to see what's what. It's taking me longer than I thought. If you're someplace that has a copy of Hawaiian Money Standard Catalog by Don Medcalf, that's what I use as a guide. Mostly what I collect is in the Statehood and Misc medals section. The book came out in 1991. When I was stationed in Hawaii I used to frequent Don's shop. As a matter of fact, my copy of Breen came from his then-girlfriend who sold me her personal copy for $80, a bit under market price at the time, but she knew me from going in the store. Anywho, I asked him if he was going to update it, said he was working on it, but that's the last thing I heard. That was... hmmm... I left there in 2001, so it's been at least that long. From looking thru ebay listings, the book still seems to be what people go by for values.
Funny thing you should mention Don...I just came from his shop! I live in Chinatown, so I'm always hanging out there . His shop is like a museum, except that you can actually buy the stuff! Heck, give him a ring. Hawaii Stamp & Coin, just look it up!
It's been so many years now, he'd probably recognize me in person, but he wouldn't know me from Adam on the phone. The only thing I can remember buying in there that I still have is my 1794 large cent. Paid him $80 for it. I think I also bought my first slabbed Morgan from him, an 1879-S PGCS MS65 for $90 or 95. Next time you're there and if you remember and don't mind, ask him about the update to the catalog.
