It’s an 1977-S Trade Dollar. This is the highest mintage of all the Trade Dollars at 9,519,000. In great condition and no chop marks.

I have 9 Trade Dollars and plan to continue focusing on these in the years to come.
This is my favorite one.

 

Looks like a higher grade but hard to tell with that dark toning. Have you thought about a quick dip or acetone?

 

No way it’s gorgeous in hand . Plus it’s slabbed.

 

Understand completely. What grade did she receive?

 

AU-53 old soap box holder. I think it is more 55 color is purple / lavender and apricot on the obverse. Tons and tons of luster which shows in good light at angles .

 

Photos are mostly but not always, very difficult to get a good idea of what the coin really looks like.

 

I almost forgot about this beauty.

I have a few of these and feel lucky to have never bought a fake. I was pretty young and knew nothing about how many fakes were out there. I bought some problems but still enjoy having them.
Many believe fakes were being made from the start of the issue.
