Found this interesting portrait on a French banknote of Hector Berlioz (1803-1869): France, 1975, 10 francs This rather quirky romantic era composer once composed a 5 movement symphony (The Symphonie Fantastique) just to impress an actress (must have worked, because she did marry him). Ironically he wasn't considered that great of a composer until his music starting to enjoy a revival in the 1960's and 1970's... not too long before France decided to honor him on this banknote. Love the style of the portrait.
I just bought 2 of them from 1978. They are A.6-7-1978-A in spotless condition. Paid a buck a piece. Is there a value to these?
Assuming "spotless" is the same as uncirculated, you made a very good deal! Those would sell for around $25 each. Dave
