1832 half dime

    was showing my dad one of the coins shops he hasnt seen in kenosha and saw this new piece which i liked. paid $50 for it. had a tough time getting decent pics of it. any opinions appreciated.

    Good deal, more common date but i think that you still got a nice deal from what i can see

    yea its definately F but the clasp is a little to worn for VF.

    Nice coin! A f-12 in my opinion. Gotta love the baby busty crusties. Now for the fun part - you need to go attribute it and see which variety it is.

    Yes, Matt... you should attribute this one. You might be in for a pleasant surprise ! :thumb:

    I think I know which one this is, but it's hard to tell from those pics.

    If you get a chance, try to get some better pics and we can help attribute if you like.

    i hope these pics are better. im stuck using my dads older kodak since im trying to sell my ppc which i didnt use for much besides taking pics of my coins.

    I use the Russ Logan site to try to attribute them. Looks like a LM-7 to me. I based this off the position of the I to the AT, the 5C placement and date placement. Then where the E in E Pluribus Unum is in relation to the letter above it, plus where the S ends at. If you go to this page you can see plenty of examples on 1832 on the placement.

    Wow, looked much better in the 1st pics. I retract my "possibly VF" statement.

    although they're in pretty rough shape...it's still a cool coin.
