Might be a bit of a stretch but does anyone know of any sales or listings of an 1892S pattern half sovereign? No 1892S half sovereigns were struck for circulation but there were a number of pattern half sovereigns struck in Australia from 1887 to 1901, many of which don't seem to be in any institutional collections. I've been able to find sales or listings of all but this one.
I haven’t seen any auction sales on the 1892 S. I am waiting on my copy of the W&R book on patterns that might include mention of it. I’m sure you have a copy of it. Good luck in your search.
I have the 20 year old Wilson and Rasmussen book (still need to get the latest) and there's nothing - I didn't see any branch mint half sovereigns for that matter.
