Just got back my results for my 1871 seated dollar from pcgs. AU55. I was hoping for at least AU58 and thinking it could have got MS62. Does this seem like a fair grade or is it undergraded? Screenshot_20220903-130841_Chrome.jpg

Im at Au 50... as most seated coins its been cleaned, and or dipped. However no way a MS coin with the wear showing.

Too much wear to be a MS grade. Even 58 is too high in my opinion. I think 55 is correct.

I like the look of the coin, however I do not dispute the grade. It seems enough of the coin has been worn to warrant 55 vs 58.

I think you were lucky to get an AU 55 grade. I would have graded it AU 50, with all the obvious wear. Nice coin, but nowhere close to MS.

Thanks, makes me feel a little better. I am starting to feel more content with the grade. I should be thankful it didn't get AU details cleaned or AU50!

I would be happy with that grade. Nice coin!
