Gorgeous coin. I will say, conservatively, a 64. Looks like in today’s market, it would be gem grade.
Many do not know the art of grading buffalos... many different looks from 1913 to 38. Not an easy series to understand and what the eye see's.
Now Sal would you like to add to this why? As you did notice something? Didn't you? LoL Not a trick question, nor to put you on the spot...but yeah tell me more.....as you're the only set of eyes who saw it... care to do a double take?
This is a very interesting specimen...Sal was on the trail...Ill wait and see if he adds any other thoughts. Before I give the grade.
Sal saw it first it has a double profile...to start then its struck though... I believe that its dirt, or medal filings as you can follow it on the obv. Forehead down to the feathers...as well you can see debris hits over the face. There's some more over the lower back of the buffalo. This came from a Old Soap bar Anacs. I liked to buy old Anacs as well PCI as most had varieties not listed on the slab...this one from a soap bar was detailed crossion....however even with the weak strike it was given a 64 by pcgs. Some mistakenly think since the orange peel looking effects its die deteration...nope its debris.
