I haven't seen a post of the new 2022 America Eagle yet, so I thought those that did not get one from the mint might want to see what they are missing. The Eagle is a thing of beauty.
Enjoy it. It's a pretty coin. FYI, I'm not missing anything, honestly. It's actually very similar to not playing the lottery. I feel like a winner every drawing I don't buy a ticket for.
It is always refreshing to read replies from the mint haters. They have to tell everyone what they think and do just to justify their course of action. I, for one, would not miss their posts, this forum and others like it would be much better without their negativity. As for the coin, enjoy it, I bought one as well and am glad to have it and purchase from the mint.
@erscolo Virtually everything on this and most other forums is someone's opinion. I have no problem with your opinion, other than the fact that you contradict yourself. I think it is healthy to post all of our experiences so that others have all the data they need to make decisions.
So sorry to hear of the looser's. A beautiful designed coin from any country is a coin collectors dream. Dave
Seems the OP invited conversation from those of us who did not partake in this offering. Now your condescending post @erscolo adds nothing to this thread.
I believe that those of us that are true coin collectors have every right to collect any coin or set of coins that they like. They also are within their rights to purchase coins from any place they choose. Regardless whether you like to buy from the Mint, I for one like the coins that the sell. Fortunately, I have the funds to buy what I like and from whom I like. As far as the 2022 American Silver Eagle, I bought 6 "S" ASE Proofs and 6 "W" ASE Proofs, but only one Uncirculated ASE. Am I wrong? Many collectors buy old/antique coins for their special collection and spend their money that way. I like to hear from people that like the ASE's and find out the good or bad things about the coins that we need to look out for. I mentioned that recently, I was collecting the Limited Edition Silver Proof Sets. When the 2022 version is released, I will buy that. Is it complete? As long as the Mint continues to release them, my collection will only be complete until the next release. In my search, I couldn't find a 2015 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. I contacted the Mint about them and I got an email telling me they don't keep up with old information. Thankfully, some members took time out to let me know that the Mint did not release a 2015 version. This is the kind of information I like to see on Coin Talk. I could care less if some collectors don't like to buy from the Mint. I would like to hear from members that buy from the Mint and tell us about their Mint Collections. Now, that's what I would like to see. Thanks, guys. Remember, we all have noses.
To each his own on prices. I might pay a little extra for a mint coin (one that I know will be authentic) rather then pay high premium price for raw coins which are sometimes counterfeit. Dave
