There's a new mailer from the Quartermaster, I don't want to ruin surprises beyond that, just it's mailed from my state and relatively close to me, so I likely just got mine ahead of everyone else.

Keep your eye out for it yall!

its mail in a nutshell. a letter from the Quartermaster.

Well, his/her hobby is counterstamping quarters with words or phrases on them, and distributing them through various methods, one of which is by anonymous mailing.

Sometimes it a contest, or a riddle letter, or something he found to be interesting in the letters that come with it when he or she mails things.

the thing is it's done anonymously, whoever it is, I guess, doesn't want or expect anything in return from whoever is on the list of people they mail to.

Some people find it odd, some find it creepy, some find it as questionable motivations,
I find it interesting and unique, and look forward to the letters occasionally arriving as a change of pace, a bit of excitement to the normal day in and day out monotony.

How he got my name, not sure but likely from this website, I don't hide my name, but it's a pretty common name.
And it's likely one of the members here, it's the only place really I would have had contact with the quartermaster. How he or she got my mailing address, I would suppose it wouldn't be too incredibly difficult either to get it, I find me on the internet quite easily, but I also know what state to look in.

Some people just like to do random things. I suppose.

Anyways, I like what this person is doing, whoever it is, and appreciate the effort, it makes my world just a bit brighter. Not everyone see it this way and are suspicious of the motivation. But me, I think it's awesome.

It's not 5th grade electricity, but its a wound coil or helix that increases the magnetic flux to increase inductance on a circuit.

Inductance is a measure of the amount of magnetic flux produced for a given electric current.

The inductance is proportional to the number of winds in a coil.
For most Inductors electricity flowing through the Inductors produces a magnetic flux

Magnetic flux is a measure of a magnetic field that passes through a given area. The inducer "tunes" it.

Inductors store energy in the form of a magnetic field, it's like a dam.

So If I guessed at it, what it's does and used for is to measure and adjust the magnetic flux on a circuit, rather than do the calculations to figure it out on a sheet of paper and calculator, and change out the windings on the inducer, and may or may not be more accurate than the margins of human error that's involved with the calculation and people being lazy, because "maths are hard".

Useful for electric motors and their frequencies and harmonics I suppose, like generator tuning.
