Here is the second of my NGC show grading coins from the ANA. Some might remember this one too (another of my interesting experiences :p). I am using the TrueView photo plus a seller photo but it is now slabbed by NGC.

Please guess the PCGS grade (if you remember, you will have an advantage this time) and the new NGC grade.

    MS64 to MS64. I don't think it changed much.

I think I remember it as a 63. I think it did not upgrade. I think it was graded as 63 by NGC also, due to the cheek marks. I would have gone 64, and close to the * grade.

    I hope it made a 64 but I think it’s a MS-63.

    Reveal....

another disappointment :( ....PCGS called it UNC Details Cleaned and NGC called it Unc Details Artificial Toning
....I didn't see any cleaning so I gave it another try at NGC; they might not have seen the cleaning either but they weren't a fan of the color. This is a difficult date to find with strong toning, so it was worth the effort. But this is it for trying this coin; too much tuition for me.

Also if anyone wants to discuss, what do you think is "better" in terms of details grades? Cleaned or Artificial Toning?

    I can dip the toning.

    In general that is true.
I wouldn’t try it on this coin.

I revealed the grade above but without a picture (which might be a good strategy to keep people guessing since it is easier to scroll past a block of words than a picture).
