Can someone please tell me when did the NZ silver fern silver bullion program start? As in when was the first silver fern produce. I know they don't have dates. Can't find this info anywhere. NZ Mint won't reply.

Must have been very recently, there is nothing about it in the 2009 Standard Catalog. So it is either 2009 or 2010, of it is something else. Does the coin have a denomination? There is a silver 2003 NZ $5 coin with a fern design.

You won't find the piece in a coin catalog. It is basically a medal - but since it's a bullion piece (1 oz silver), that does not matter much. One side shows the fern, with NEW ZEALAND above and SILVER FERN below. The other side has a map of the country, and the four stars of the Southern Cross, with AOTEAROA (Maori for N.Z.) above and ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER .9999 below. As far as I know, they first came out in 2008, but I'm not sure about that ...

OK so it isn't a coin just a private issue silver round.

Right, not a coin. Attached is an image (source) which shows both sides of the piece. I am not a "bullion buyer" so I don't know whether the "coin or not" question makes a difference for them if the price is right. (After all, an ounce of silver is an ounce of silver.) But this piece is not legal tender anywhere ...
