So now I wondering if the Dime box has dimes or 1775-S Cents. Then I open the box. I had to stare in amazement for a minute.

You should be selling these "Unopened Boxes" on eBay!! :hilarious:

I’ll have to go through this box at another time. I’ll take photos and post each coin individually later. A quick look is this:
    An 1880-S PL Morgan
    An 1859-O Liberty Seated Dollar
    An 1883-CC BU Morgan
    A 1920-S AU Lincoln Cent
    (Still has some red)
    A 1896 1 Oz. Silver round
    A George Washington token and
A 1787 Connecticut Copper facing left

I took a few items out and then I understood what I did so many years ago. There’s a whole mess of slabs, both PCGS and NGC under it all. I also found my 1937-D 3 legged Buffalo that I though my ex had. It’s in F+ and I paid $143.00 for it. Try that nowadays.

Also had a 1792 Kentucky Token. Now I have 2 of them. Lol

I also saw my 1877 VF-20 Indian Head Cent. I paid $625.00 for that coin. You can’t touch one for under a thousand in today’s market I don’t think.

Also found several Trade Dollars that cost me under $100 each. A few Liberty Seated Dollars that were around $125.00 each. But the one thing that really stuck out was a 1880-Cc 8/7 Morgan Dollar in BU. The Bremen # is 5554.

This little Dime box was like Christmas today. So much and so many nice older coins. It will definitely take time to go through it.

No way! The Dime box has at least $3000 in today’s prices just from what I mentioned. I don’t want to miss out on all that fun.

Still, I would love to have the excitement of rediscovering what's in this treasure box. If you felt overloaded, everyone on CoinTalk would help you look through these.

It is fun but you’re too far away. I used to live in Washington State and that’s where I picked up most of these. Just further north. You’re at the south end of I-5 in the state. I’ve been to your area a few times in the past. I antiqued there as well. I also found a large number of cut and uncut gemstones in this box. And I found 2 35mm film containers full of sapphires that I dug around Helena, MT.

I did what I could but I’m tired and excited so I just put it back in the box for another day.

There's nothing wrong with deferring some of the excitement for another day!

FIFY. You've already established your Modus Operandi. I hope to still be looking down at the grass the next time you visit that box.

It will be shortly as there are so many neat coins in there. The problem is, I have lots more boxes just like this one. If you can call that a problem.

I just can’t believe the low prices I paid for them a quarter of a century ago.

Anyone that can hold off, for a prolonged period of time, opening boxes they know are filled with goodies, has a problem. LOL
