Hey guys ! Those of you hit the ANA Nationals at Fort Worth... share your high points ! The single most mind-blowing event for me was... get ready... wait for it... an 1833 proof set. hoochie mama Yes, you heard me right. The half eagle was a PR65 Cameo if I recall. Goodness gracious that was a freaky coin. Funny thing was, we had just left the Augustin table, where I was ogling an 1829 Proof dime. Study long ! It was educational. I had just told my wife she should enjoy it while she can, since it would be a long time when she came upon a proof from that era. "Long Time" wound up being 5 minutes.
Wish I could have been ther to see the spider press! Would loved to have picked up a print from it!!!
Actually, I was waiting for you to post yours. Are you going to or are you just going to make me keep teasing everyone? Here are the 2 I got from thepennylady. It looks like I need to set my balance. Both are redder than they show here.
I promise I will, I will ! I'm busy finalizing a presentation for my local coin club, so no photography yet. I came away with two marvelous proof seated quarters, two exceptional bust halves, and a terrific braided hair half cent. Now, the hard part is convincing Robin "Honey, I bought 'em for resale ! Honest, I did !"
