A tough hole to fill, the large 8 and stars. Not one I had expected to find near the $20 price range and was very surprised to see it posted simply as an 1835 LC.. Was posted tonight for $25 bin/best offer... I could have offered 20 and probably gotten the coin, but wasn't taking the chance of someone else nabbing it while i waited... (PS this is an outside of budget purchase so no ratting me out to the woman lol)
She'll get conservation/VC bath once she arrives :D

Is it usual for the 'E' in ONE to be that large a gap?

The T in cents too...not an expert in LC's however that could be a dead give away marker. Sometimes they are right in your face...other times its like a where's Waldo puzzle.

At this time the lettering in the dies was still being punched into each die by hand. The large 8 and stars (N-1) used rev A, and rev A was used in N-1 and 5, and also on 31 N-3 and 34 N-5
