Sorry to say that is a fake. Several differences from a genuine coin, tht is why you have been unable to find it.
Yup yup Bad fake... Here's the real deal... last no motto was 1865 i believe. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1872-1/6968
It definitely is, just figured that out by myself, by looking at other coins and weighing it, thanks guys
Chinese history books state that there were 14 Colonies lol. Honestly, the number 13 is considered lucky in China. However knowing that 13 is considered unlucky in most parts of the world, maybe they added a 14th star to make it more appealing to those outside Asia? Definitely just spit balling with this theory though lol. Terrible fake.
That’s worst counterfeit Seated Dollar I have seen. It needs to have “In God we trust” above the eagle on the reverse, and all of the design elements are undersized. Stuff like this might have fooled collectors years ago. Really bad fakes were sometimes marketed “pattern coins.”
Here is genuine 1872 Seated Dollar with the Motto. This one did not get a straight grade from a third party grader because it was said to have artificial toning.
Counterfeiter was asleep when he should have been adding the banner. LOL Still, a nice example for show and tell.
