I have a 1797 Britannia coin. Stamped around the coin on the obverse is GEORGIUUS III D : G . R . E . X with a stamped image of, I assume, a profile of a king. On the reverse stamped around the coin is B R I T A N I A 1797 and in the center is a seated woman holding a trident in her left hand\arm with a shield resting below her left hip. I googled the coin but nothing was returned describing the specified coin. I'd like to know the history of the coin and what it's worth. Thanks, M.
yakpoo's thread: That's it but mine has a nice patina and is 3/16" thick. Unfortunately, the rim is a little dinged. I'll try take some pictures as soon after I setup the camera.
