Date on a 1 Pound note?

    jello you need to post a larger pic or scan to tell you the exact year as these notes dont carry a year on them.
    This is from series c portrait issue which began in march 1960.

    The signature looks like J B Page which would make it 1970-1977. Sorry can't narrow it down any further.
    If the serial# starts with Z then it's probably one of the later years

    That date sounds right I was stationed out side London 1976-77.here the note # Z67D 336276
    I have looked over every inch of the note and there no date anywhere
    .

    5 Notes

    I have five of these notes with Serial #'s from H,W, Z, and Y. Are these notes still legal tender? They are not in uncirculated condition but not torn or badly damaged either. I saw where they could be valuable as a collector item. Is that true?

    No, the lowest paper denomination that the Bank of England has is the £5 note. However, such old ones http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/denom_guide/index.htm can still be redeemed. Don't know about their value among collectors ...
