Hit the ATM for some walking around money this morning. These popped out in the stack. Consecutive stars. s1.jpg star.jpg

This was in the middle of the 15 I took out, just a lucky draw.

I'll go into my Credit Union from time to time and get uncirculated strapped 100 pack of bills.

But I also have a rule that if I get sequential bills from the ATM I'll throw them in the safe. Couple months ago I took money out and all of them were sequential. Rats. I knew I couldn't take anymore out becz those would be sequential too .. so I just spent nothing that weekend. LOL

Star notes are one thing, but why would sequential bills be worth hanging onto? All money issued from the federal reserve comes in sequential bricks doesn't it?

I agree with you in general, however if you can hold them long enough, they might bring a small premium!!

I would have withdrawn more if I received those.

Lucky? I think not because now you have to decide whether to keep them, or spend them. If they were ones, it wouldn't be much of a problem, but 20s might be.

A person should probably focus on things other than collectables if they are in the habit of getting down to their last $60. ;)

Most people don't realize that there are 4 money cassettes in most ATMs, plus a fifth one for rejects. If they load all the cassettes with all $20s, the bills could have come from any of them and there's no guarantee that you would get the rest of the stack of star notes. Some banks will still put different denominations in the money cassettes, but not many do.

But if you don’t try it’s an automatic no. And you went to the ATM to get cash for spending money. Instead you got star notes and you can’t spend those. At least I can’t. :)

    Thanks,
I keep checking them to see how they work but the FBI keeps telling me to put them back ... ;)

I don’t know much about papér money. Meaning I don’t really know what to look for, concerning what would make the note worth more than it’s face value? Other than the radar note. But what’s the best case scenario, I could find on a 10$, 20$, 50$, or 100$ bill? Thank you.
