    The reason I mentioned the American Numismatic Association is because, unlike so many other industry-related organizations, it is not in business to make a profit.

    The ANA is a nonprofit educational organization whose realm is threatened by this proliferation of counterfeiting, against which the only effective survival strategy is the orderly dissemination of information which can deprive counterfeiters of prospective gains.

    In short, the incentive is self-preservation.

    Ms. Sperber did not have much success in the quest, with ANA.

    One of the fundamental flaws of capitalistic corporations, maximize short term profits over everything else, blinds folks from doing the right thing for the industry overall. They need to realize that in the long run a capital investment in this would actually protect their overall investments and ensure a longer stream of profits...
