I acquired about 70 of these from my bank for face value, all 1953 and 1963 in average circulated condition. I only bought them to make a quick profit.

My local coin dealer offered me $2.25each over the phone. Is that a reasonable offer ?

Would I do better on ebay ? I've never sold anything on ebay, so I'd be a virgin seller, seems like a lot of hassle there ?

any other suggestions for selling these ?

I don't have a camera available. These are not CU, and not torn and taped. They are just what you'd expect of circulated notes. Somebody probably was holding them for decades, and needed cash, so turned them in. They are average circulated, fairly nice since $2 bills didn't circulate too heavily.

a 25 cent premium by your dealer is fairly low. Since they are average circulated then they are probably a $3-4 eBay item. Check to see if there is a star in the beginning of the serial number, if so those are worth a bit more, even circulated.

At least $7 each, I would list them for $9.99 each or best offer with free shipping.

I would just like to make a suggestion to you.
Circulated $2 bills from 1953 or 1963 are not very desirable to anyone. The demand is very low. If you have a coin dealer who is willing to buy them from you for .25 over face it might be the last time you find anyone interested.
You will make $16.00 nothing wrong with that. On the other hand if your a bit of a haggler go see him face to face. Tell him he can have all $70 for $100. Maybe he will come up a little.
Just keep it in the back of your mind you will take the $16 regardless.
I know people who spend $10,000.00 on a piece of currence to try to flip it for a quick $300 and thats no exaggeration.

    Good luck.

I suppose you right but 1953 or 1963 $2 that are in circulated do not carry a huge premium.
Even the stars in this series are not worth much circulated.
I am just trying to give you sound advice to answer you question without prejudice. Listing them on ebay may get you a little but the fees will take it from you. Not to mention you have to accept paypal. Your coin dealer will probably pay you the same way you paid for the stuff. Cash....

MPCUSA how much are you willing to pay? Just sayin'

Thanks for the information. I only have one red seal: $5.00 series 1953 circulated condition.
