My buddy has 2 completely full 5 gallon water jugs of pennies sitting in his closest for nearly 10 years :hail: and he said I can look through them :D. Before his grandmother died she would throw all the pennies from the day *they own a luncheonette* into a jug. Hopefully I find something worth wild :). Hopefully by next Thursday i'll be able to start looking.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I would use the flip em' over process. You just flip them on the obverse and if you see wheat look at them. The ones with Lincoln Memorial on the reverse get placed on the back burner. That way you specifically look mainly at the wheaties and you don't waste time. just my 2 cnts

You will probably need a dolly or cart to move those jugs. Good luck and be careful!!

Funny, I've been working on a friends 25 year old stash of coins, mostly cents, for about 6 months now. Founds lots of cool stuff so far including an MS-62RD 1999 WAM, 98 and 00 WAMs, a 1972 DDO-002, a few IHC's and a ton of 1980's/90's BU cents....to name a few.

I still have like 3 more gallon+ size containers to go through. He had what looked like a 10 gallon water cooler jug completely full of cents. We could not move it! LOL We had to tip it over and pour out some into bags!

    It's a LOT of work....have fun!

My neck is hurting just from looking at a few rolls of nickels, but boy do I wish I had a friend like that.

Good luck, can not wait to hear of the results!

    Regards,
    Stan

According to various searches roughly 31,000 pennies fit into a 5 gallon jug . I avg between 10-20 wheaties searching a $25 box. Id be more then content with finding 500 wheaties :D

I picked up the pennies today, sadly there is only 1 water jug. Ive gone through maybe 1/2 looking for wheats and I've found ALOT.
