Are these errors easy to pick on. or are magnifiers needed most of the time?

Well, considering that my eyes are deteriorating as I get older, I find myself using a magnifier more and more.... Ok, pretty much all the time now..(I need to update my prescription).

So, that being said, I guess it depends on the individuals eyesight.

I would ave to agree with KennyMac on that, and thanks for reminding me i need to make an appointment...:rolling:. However there are small errors that could be missed without a magnifier, so play it safe and get one that works for you.

I personally like a 10x-30x loupe for looking. If I find something interesting I'll use the 100-400x scope for detailed looking and pics. And yes, I wear glasses so the 30x loupe is what I use mainly.

Most errors you should be able to see with the naked eye. Varieties are a different story, most of them require magnification...

    I agree.

As for varieties, my take is:

If it'll make you rich you'll see it with the naked eye; if it'll buy you a nice dinner you'll need a 5-8X loupe; if it'll only buy you a cup of coffee you'll need 30X.
