    As @Collecting Nut said, it is not worth the effort. The green is where the micro thin copper has reacted to atmospheric conditions, and the dark areas are where the zinc core is exposed. Once the core has been exposed to oxygen and the atmosphere the rot has begun, just a matter of time before it crumbles away
