A friend and fellow EAC'er sent me a personal email about a group of large cents for sale; he had spent the time attributing them and was interested in my opinions... I really didn't need to spend any time on the noted varieties as I had formulated an opinion in literally seconds after opening the email. So, I ask readers humor me and consider their response if the note were to them- feel free after to click on the link which was a part of my response to him! https://coinweek.com/counterfeits/s...ns-another-family-of-struck-fake-large-cents/ Best, Jack.
I picked out the 1810 and 11 as fakes just looking at the date, but from the article I see that they all have the die chip in front of the nose. I'm surprised your fellow EAC'er didn't at least see the 1810, since the date looks like a kid drew it in crayon.
Same damn obverse on all the oddly cut star number 2 on All is a. Dead giveaway too along with the divot. The surface quality on several too pitted looking devices with super clean fields too. Fake as can be. The whole lot
