I've got another guess the grade for you all. This coin was picked up at a local coin show last October. I loved the look of it and picked it up at the same time as the next coin I will post. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. The obverse and reverse have struck through bark dust in the fields and on Liberty's neck with a few pieces still remaining in places.

I'll say MS 66 here ....if it's a 65, then maybe the struck though portions clouded the grader's judgment :p

I’m going to go out on a limb and say ms 66 if that isn’t too serious of chatter on the reverse. The cheek looks more like luster grazes than marks and those fields are clean

Very lovely. A little chatter on the cheek makes it a MS65 in my opinion.

MS65. The die wear is holding her back of a market 66.

Is it chatter or die pitting by the left wing? Not a gem coin if it wasn’t struck that way. Probably a 64, maybe with a plus.

    Thanks Eddiespin.

The ice rink I played hockey at growing up was the site of the image, so I feel especially proud to have had my small town represented in such an incredible way.

The image is stunning. My grandfather was outside the building trying to get in because he lives just across the street.

The original building burnt down a few years later, but I still consider the Lewiston Colisée to be the same one.

A solid 65, knocking on the door of 66. I am going to say MS 65+ but very high in grade. The coin has great eye appeal, and the obverse is close to PL.

Lots of good guesses so far. But nobody has gotten it correct yet.

What looks like chatter under the wing on the reverse is a patch of struck through wood chips. The obverse has the same thing going on. The fields are very flashy and reflective, so everything shows up really well.

Are you telling me this coin is a 63? Because I’d be shocked to hear that this ended up in a 67 holder.

I’m always very reluctant to suggest such a mega grade.

I’ll take a crack at it. I think the obverse is 65. Reverse is 65, maybe even 66 but has the strike through as a minor detractor. Strike is very nice.

Looks like it comes down to the beaming luster and whether it presents as a gem in hand, I’ll guess it does. Torn between 64+PL and 65PL but I’ll go with the latter.

Ok, time for the reveal. This one is a PCGS MS-66+ with very flashy fields. It's just short of PL and looks incredible in hand. Personally, I like struck through coins. Not a lot of people do, but this one just spoke to me when I first saw it.
