Clipped plachet 1947 penny

    That’s not an incomplete planchet but it is rim damage.

    If you think about how an incomplete planchet comes to be, you'd know the answer, as the rim wouldn't be raised at the point you thought was a "clip."

    As the blanks are punched out of the strip of metal, they leave a clean edge.
