July 25 is the Heritage auction of the Redding Collection, Part 4. A huge collection of Bust, Seated and Trade dollars by die marriage. High grades and probably more in one spot than you're ever likely to see.

Many of the bust dollars are in vf and should draw a lot of bids. I'll check out some of the Trade Dollars but doubt I'll win anything as prices have been crazy lately for just about everything

I thought it interesting that only one of the draped bust dollars, 3 of the seated dollars, and one of the trade dollars had cac stickers (including proofs). Prices were about what I expected, high but not outrageous. early PR63 trade dollars could be had for about $2,500 ; a very rare 1875-P Type 1/1 sold for $2000 (AU50) about twice the price of the common variety; some variety collector is a happy camper!

That 1875 Type 1/1 was a great score for someone. It is a very tough coin and this one was a "no doubt" business strike as it exhibited all of the diagnostic pick-up points. The only thing I had against it was that I thought it was overgraded by a point - I would have graded it XF45, but that's JMO...

Interestingly, there is another one (cleaned) in tonight's Heritage weekly auction.

Haven’t been paying attention or buying coins. Probably good for my bank account. Between my jewelry buying lol and wanting to do some work on the house and some work on myself I’m trying to not tempt myself

Damn it. The only reason I didn't win on any of my bids was because my bids were too low. ;)

sold for 800. I got outbid on a 76-cc type 1/1 "normal" reverse xf 40 to the tune of $1440.
