I love this coin, it’s in an old holder of a well known TPGS and likely undergraded considering today’s standards. Let’s see which grade you’d assign… @Insider @Rheingold @C-B-D @Seattlite86 @Eduard
Pretty coin. The highpoints on the obverse look like they have loss of luster. I don't know the series to well. Maybe it is a weak strike issue. I said AU58.
Can’t figure out how to add CAC in the vote, but given the fact that you shared that it’s in an old holder and looks to have a nice original bloom and skin- I would guess it would sticker.
I wouldn't attempt to grade it from those photos. But then I'm lousy at grading gold in the first place. LOL
Let me give you some hints: it’s a tiny coin and those are high res pictures - most of the chatter you see in the pictures is not visible in hand, the coin’s luster is outstanding, it’s color is as original as it can get
I went with 58 but could see a 63; the dark toning makes it hard to check for luster breaks in the fields. whatever, it's a nice original coin!
Does anybody else want to guess? I’ll wait one more day before revealing the assigned grade. Maybe those who said AU58 could tell us where exactly they see wear or luster breaks
You all did a pretty good job, 6 votes for AU58 and 7 votes for MS63/64. I am not sure who voted for UNC-details, there’s nothing wrong with this coin. NGC graded it MS63, but I’ll likely have it crossed over to PCGS in the next days. So if you voted for MS64 you may be “right” as well… will get back to you in a couple of months
