There is a really wide variety of these out there - US and foreign, modern, vintage and ancient, revaluation, artistic, and merchant advertising.

My decent into exonumia has led me down this rabbit hole of late. I'm interested in seeing examples I may not be aware of. Post yours!

I'll start with a recent arrival.

I’ll let the last Spanish coin that @Paddy54 just posted above be my submission here, since I gave it to him. I found it in a junk silver lot and the unknown counterstamp (still unidentified, BTW) intrigued me.

I have never figured out why, or what exactly this counter stamps purpose was.

    Nice Mel Wacks piece @dwhiz . . . .

I'm still trying to get a few more of his pieces. This is probably my favorite so far.

It has quite a history which I’ve never posted. Maybe one day. :)

I have posted this before somewhere. Only counter stamped I own. It has an anchor (or at least half an anchor) and the letters U and S.

I'm very partial to coin and numismatic club countertamps. This one by the Missouri Numismatic Society in 1963 is quite unusual in the counterstamp is sheild shaped and not round.
