Here is another Morgan Dollar for you to have fun with. This is the beginning of the Fab 4 years at the San Francisco Mint for the Morgan Dollar, the 1879-S. As always I welcome your input behind your grading decision. I'm making it a poll again, but I am eliminating the multiple choice this time, just to make it clearer for both you and me.
I think this coin is on par with the 1878-S and one can argue the fields are even less baggy. So I went with MS 66+ (by the way, that small arc of obverse color is a pleasant addition to the this coin)
People must be busy this weekend. I'll let it go until tomorrow evening. Calling @Morgandude11, @Dave Waterstraat, @Paddy54, @Lehigh96 I'm probably forgetting someone, if anyone else wants to summons anyone, feel free to.
I think it is higher graded than the 78s. Cleaner cheek, fields, and the same level of luster. I think it made the grade at 67, but narrowly. It is high grade 66+ to low grade 67. I think it made the 67.
65 + its nice but 65+ is my confort zone lol You all do understand that this is JTlee photography..one of the only photographers who can make a washer look like a proof like gem.... lol that's a comp btw...lol
Looks like it's time for the reveal. This one is as @Morgandude11 said, should be a 66+/67. It is a recently graded MS-66. I couldn't pull the trigger fast enough as I knew it was a very good deal.
For 66 money? That is a steal. They were needlessly tough. @ddddd was at 66+, and I was at low grade 67. I would consider getting JA’s opinion. It looks like a certain Green bean, and possibly a Gold bean.
I had voted 6+ and was half expecting a 64 in an old holder with a gold bean based on your knack for finding those! Beautiful coin.
