Glad to help. The book looks amazing! I like how on the old plates they call the Morgan a 'standard dollar', lots of antiquated stuff to see how things once were and were perceived. I wonder if we should start a new thread with the title of this book in the title for anyone not reading this thread? Include the link and description... just an FYI thread. I don't think that's considered double posting...
Numismatic library Yes I agree it is a nice rare book.I have 3 copies(1885,1888,and 1892) in my collection. It would be great that those who don't have a copy be able to access one on line. Great job Krispy!
Good Idea ,I bet a lot of the guys would like to read it. Feel free to start the thead .you did all the investigation Bob Connor
Here is the new thread on that title: History of the United States Mint and American Coinage, Ancient and Modern

The American Negotiator is also up on Google Books in entirety! There are several editions posted. Maybe one of the CT Mods could be given a list of links to these rare/classic numismatic reading materials that can be posted in the Numismatic Resources section of CT.

@Lettow: Now that was impressive. Was a collection 30 years in the making? (Sorry no photos) - I have checked out other books from the public library. My collection is very humble: 10 Red Books: A Guide Book of United States Coins - 15th Ed.(1962), 17th (1964), 19th (1966), 20th (1967), 21st (1968), 22nd (1969), 23rd (1970), 25th Silver Ed. (1972), 26th (1973), and 2010. 2 Blue Books: Handbook of United States Coins with Premium List, 23rd ed, (1966); and 37th ed (1980). Question: Does any one have a manuscript of the 1916 price list by R.S. Yeoman? It was alluded to in one of my old Red Books. I forgot to add the 1974 Buy and Sell price guide to U.S. Coins. It is a little blue paperback. $1.00 new.(has mint records and prices from 1793 to date- by Gene Hessler).
Sunflower, what pricelist might that be? 1916 from R.S.Yeoman??? Yeoman was only 12 years old in 1916.
Wow... those are some really great library collections. I'm just getting started in collecting, so now I think I have a starting point.
Only ones I can locate right now: A Guide Book to United States Coins 5th edition by R.S. YEoman signed by Bob Evans, Chief Scientist S.S. Central AMerica Project and the Complete Catalog of United States Large Size Star Notes 1910 - 1929 Complete Catalog of United States Large Size Star Notes 1910 - 1929 is not that exciting all pictures of bill are small and monochrome. No color.
On the very first page of several of the editions (note: these old editions are brand new to me). Directly under the title and before the author name is the statement: Fully Illustrated - Catalog and Price List - 1616 to Date.(the 1916 was my error). Perhaps the 1916 meant that the coins started in 1616. I do not have my glasses handy, so I am not able to research the coin too well right now. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I did notice that it would be impossible for the author to be living and publishing all that time, but did not figure it out until maybe now. Thank you. (I probabley was without reading glasses when I posed the question). They are misplaced again.
The Redbooks still display "Valuation List- 1616 to Date" directly under the edition number. The first coin listed in the Colonial section is the Hoggue Money or Hoggies, first struck coins for English colonies in America issued circa 1616. I misplace my glasses all the time (lol)

Here is my newest book. This is HUGE and I have included a couple shots just to give you a side-by-side comparison. I cannot wait to have some time to dig in. I already know it will be a great source for my Engravers group project!
That looks pretty nice...almost like the Comprehensive one by Hessler but with color pictures and by Bowers... How old is it? And what did it cost you?
Published in 2009 and with my membership discount on Barns&noble it cost $60. Best reference I have now for paper money!
Thanks for the update as with my new District collection underway another book would be nice. I thought it was an older book but I guess not
