What kind of error is this?

    Hello,

I was going through my photo album in my phone and came across a picture I took of one of the coins I found in circulation some time ago. I didn’t have time to really look more into it and unfortunately, don’t have the time to do so as much as I would like to so I pretty much just put my coins away and now I have boxes of coins piled up waiting for me to go through.

this is one of the coins I found and put aside as I wasn’t sure if that was some type of an error or what so, could anybody help me and tell me if it’s worth keeping or not?

It's not an error. Incused lettering into the upraised rim means another coin was pressed against it.
People do this on purpose to confuse others.

Keep this in mind. Not everything that looks different, strange or weird is automatically a mint error.

A Mint error is something that occurs during the manufacture of the coin in the production line.

After that a billion or more things can happen to a coin including when one drops it on the sidewalk and nicks it to a billion other things that are done on purpose, by accident or otherwise.
The key is learning the difference.

That’s the result of your coin being squeezed in a vise with another coin. Definitely damaged.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I’m trying to learn and know the difference between something that happened during production and then after due to wear and tear. I haven’t seen one like this before hence why I wasn’t sure but thank you I appreciate your feedback.
