Do some research in the HA.com completed auction archives for what you might be able to get for these before you reduce to some other level of compensation that may not be to your liking. HA.com allows you free access to past sales, just sign up for free and search the currency section. You might also consider getting these graded by PCGS or PMG. It might improve your ability to sell these but you should research the grade and costs involved in grading. Buy some books on currency and learn how to grade so you can list your notes for a more accurate value for the grade of each. :thumb:
I did check heritage and I have done some research. The person who is the owner of these does not really care to get them graded or even get the retail value. He wants to sell them at a wholesale market price. At one point he asked me if I could get $700 for the group and I suggest that was to little. BTW I did find out that a run of 10 of these is not something you often come across. He wants them gone he is not a collector its that simple. I figured we could post on this forum and a couple of others. Ebay has become so dam expensive it seems crazy to try to sell because of the fees. Thanks Brian
I totally agree with your decision to avoid eBay! I'd give it some more time on the open section here, there's just not a lot of Paper folks here, I think. Some other sites like banknotebank.com, collectors corner, the pcgs collectors club, the pmg chat boards, and other such forums might help you reach more serious buyers. Not sure if you've considered contacting independent dealers like Don Kelly, Lyn Knight, Denlys and the like...? I know some of them are pretty heavy hitters, but may be interested in taking them as a group off your hands for you. Just some more ideas...
OK Guy's no more offers to sell outside of the Open forum ok, if you need to edit something please contact one of us mods to do it for you.
I agree with Jamericon. They're great notes and this series books for about that price in that condition. I usually tend to stick closer to the ChCu grades than gem since it is so hard to get gem notes. I'd say an even $100/note is a good place to list them at. :thumb:
