People lose interest before the 48 hours is up so I'll reveal. @Paddy54 was the only one who said AU, but added Details. Everyone else was at some level of Unc. I'll have to see it in hand. I was looking for a Reverse 2 to compliment my Reverse 1. I love AU55-58 coins for the price point, plus you can find some nice ones. I saw the unattributed DDO and figured it was a bonus. I think others maybe saw it too, as it was sniped to within $2 of my preset bid.
This an Au specimen too Not knocking the coin as its quite nice but I've have had Anacs body bag or detail a coin that wasn't dipped or cleaned...and how that got by....? I take an Au any day if they all looked this nice...I always eye them up and down... as if my entire collection was Au. I be a very happy camper.
I'm thinking an Au thread should be started... as I agree Ive seen Au's that eye appeal shoots down MS specimens.
The difference between high grade AU, and low grade MS often does not reflect eye appeal. It is just whether or not the coin has technically been circulated. AU 58 coins often look way better than many MS 60-63 graded coins.
Probably not worth resurrecting this but I received the coin a couple weeks ago and took some lame videos. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HATbnfxyq_M https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Va44DOrXQrA The reverse is very nice, no evidence of any wear, well struck and lustrous. The obverse has those two dark patches left and right which actually look brighter than the rest at certain angles. Lots of luster especially in and around the stars, but appears to be muted nearer the portrait. There's a light scratch from above the ear to the lips that is visible at certain angles. Otherwise I don't detect wear on the obverse either. I'm assuming what's going on in the fields said "circulated" to ANACS. Overall I'm satisfied with it, as a reasonably priced example of Reverse 2 and a bonus DDO. There's a die crack through the lower right 4 stars to add flavor. Thanks for all the previous comments.
