How High Will It Go? 1943 Bronze Cent

    Well then here's the thing, Evan. These dies had obvious issues. Here's the reverse. There should be steel cents struck proximate to this copper cent on these same dies with this same combination of obvious issues. The caked-out first R in LIBERTY is a very obvious marker for this obverse die. I'd think because of the obvious issues on these dies those steel cents should stick out when we see them.

    Actually it inched up today. It was $192k with BP in my morning email and now is $198k.

    It could be strongly suspected withthese coins considering the last two recently discovered examples were in the estates of men who worked at the mint in 1943.

    Many were found in circulation though, so it seems equally likely that a couple mint employees found them during QC or something.

    The price of the stamp keeps going up, with the service degrading. So my hammer price is 95% postage. The rest is the BP (Buyer Premium) ;)

    Yeah that what I say. Those crazies at the mint saved a few coppers to have some fun and tossed them in cuz of the material change. Every mint workers probably wanted one too
