Just a short story to share with all my paper collecting friends. As I have posted before my father worked for 46 years at the Federal Reserve. In that time he held many jobs...from a runner as a teen to a agent before he retired. This was one of his favorite stories. It seem that some counterfitter had a bad day with his plates as instead of printing $20 bills his engraver made them $18.00 bills "no lie true story" After they had run god only knows how many bills ....they realized the mistake. Thinking that some back woods virginian would not know the difference he started passing the $18.00 bills in Va.. He stopped at a rural gas station and asked for change and if they could break a brand new U. S. bill.... the owner said after seeing the $18.00 bill sure how would you like your change.....3 $6's or 2 $9's! LOL Now you know the rest of the story.....:D And yes he was put away for a long time!:hammer:
