I have an opportunity to purchase this coin but i’m not sure what a fair price would be. Your input will be much appreciated.
This is a common date Jefferson, an error as such I would pay between $40-$50 graded.. Now if triple struck or other errors on the coin yes the value would increase more. If it were a Buffalo, Liberty, shield yes a double strike would increase a lot in value. As always the true value is what one is willing to pay for the coin. Not knowing the asking price its hard to advise. Over the years I have sold many a coin as such, or a broad strike specimen for $10-15 each..yes errors have increased since... but only for specimens that have other errors on them. The 2022 red book quotes $40. I hope this helps.
The seller was asking $50 and it has not been graded. I guess i’ll pass and wait for something better. Thanks for the info.
I guess it doesn’t have to be graded the advice given from Paddy54 said $40-$50 on a graded coin. So if that is the case i would rather spend the $50 on a grade specimen.Or is it worth it?
Have you made the seller a low ball offer? If you like the coin, try offering a lower amount and see what they say. All they can do is say, "No."
It does have.... taking a second peek a double D/D mm...but only because of the mis strike...not an rpm
