the mint should lower its premium on silver and gold products. the chart should be lower at least one bracket to two bracket. the premium set by dealers already down to its regular level. like bullion silver is only $0.50 over spot. if the mint doesn't lower it. don't buy this time from the mint. it is too high. remember the mint set the chart because the premium during time is quite high.
why is the spouses gold not hot during gold boom. because the mint did not aggressively advertise its spouses products to the general public. see other gold products sold a lot as compare to spouses gold.
i suggest that the mint sealed all tubes and boxes to hold those 20,40 50 and 500 coin. so that the dealers won't able to send them to slab and return others to the mint. or sell them to unaware customers. or the mint simply sell tubes containing 20,40,50 and 500 directly to customers. to impose more strict on returns. specially the bullion coins. no return. that's it.
the u.s.mint should add more brackets to its gold price chart. if the gold pass $1,200.00. the mint will run out of its pricing guide. p.s. the price guide is only up to $1,199.99.
i suggest that the mint produces collector's items gold silver & platinum without box and c.o.a. instead insert those encapsulated coins with sealed plastic sheet. in this way. it reduces cost of box and c.o.a. and prevent people from open it up. choose the good perfect coin and return the unwanted one. or the mint can still using box/coa with encapsulated coin sealed with plastic sheet. that's mean two types. one with box and coa cost more.
see. with sealed plastic 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" sheet. to open it. you have to break the plastic or cut it. with only capsule. people can open it up. choose the nice one and send it for slab. later on. return the lesser condition or below perfect coin to the mint. the mint then sell it back to poor collectors. that's not fair. wake up u.s. mint. try this new method. thanks.
now the mint have producing uncirculated roll for lincoln cent. previously mint produced presidential dollar roll, sacagawea dollar roll, kennedy half dollar roll, and different quarter dollar roll. i hope the mint will also producing jefferson nickel roll and roosevelt dime roll.
Elaine - i tried that last year writing to the mint askin for dime and nickel rolls for collectors purchasing but got my request denied - naturally. But- Hey if more people ask or the right person does maybe they will do it. Here is the response they gave - i think its kinda humerous. :mouth: Snowman
the mint sell 2010 cent roll of two mint mark at $8.95 per 100 cent. of course if we are willing to buy from mint at their added mark up or premium. then, the mint might produce it. but at face value. simply they won't.
the mint should continue selling those first spouses gold after closing date and or extend selling those first spouses gold till the stock inventory depleted. starting from letitia and julie tylers.
They probably do. They know the First Spouse coins aren't selling well so it is mostlikely that they coin them in small batches. It is very UNLIKELY that they coin up the entire authorized mintage because they know that most of them will just end up being melted down again. Why pay to have the same planchets made over and over again. So at the end of the year they can sell until what they have on hand is sold. They can't strike and sell anymore after that because the coins have to bear the year they were struck on them.
The low mintages are a major appeal of these coins. I'd like to see every effort made to keep the mintages LOW.
Probably because there is no legislation telling the Mint to do so and there already were the 2001 P & D Silver Buffalo commemorative coins. Also the one ounce silver W mint mark coins have, prior to 2009, been the $1 ASE coins... What do you propose the denomination of another coin of the same silver content and weight be compared to the ASE which already has this role?
the u.s. mint should stop issuing $1.00 coin. there are too many (1 billion), unwanted, and kept in vault. the mint should issue only for collectors. just like the kennedy half dollar. stop immediately end of this year. try to print $2.00 bill or $5.00 bill more. additionally. the mint should end the cent. and produce steel clad cu-nickel 5 cent.
