I hate to play devils advocate because this guy does appear to be sleazy and under all circumstances I have zero use for Ebay or Paypal and avoid both. However the guy does not promise that the entire roll will be anything other than an old roll of wheat cents. What is interesting is even the people who spent a few hundred on these rolls only to get mostly common coins still left him positive feedback./

1 in 50 chance of 1909 S ... what a gamble, what a gimic. They say a sucker is born every minute. I can't believe this auction closed @ $900. Sad, very sad

Incorrect. Saw a documentary on them one time. Including worldwide sales, they admitted to making around $80,000 a minute. (Not to be fooled with $8,000.)

You have to remember, things don't have to sell for them to make money. Every single item listed is a fee they collect. Every paypal transaction is 3% coming their way. They get around 10-12% of every sale.

I'm sure that buyer had " 50 1909 s VDB's " on the brain.. I know I did when I looked at it before it sold.

Sorry, but you are way off. Their income is a mere $250 per sec or a profit of only $80 per sec. If their INCOME were $80,000 per sec, that would be 80,000 X 3600 (SEC/HOUR) X 24 (hour/day) X 365 (days per year) = $2.52 TRILLION. At that rate. they could pay for our medical insurance and we would not have to get the government involved.

Don't believe me, look it up http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=EBAY

    Interesting observations about this auction:

Look at the bidder who got outbid in the last few seconds, the one with the purple star and 645 feedback. I think he knows the seller. Why? 43% activity with him in the past 30 days, FAR more than any other bidder, AND he was placing bids on the auction every 2 or 3 SECONDS, increasing his max bid by $20 - but in reality, was he just doing it to make it seem like a super popular, super competitive auction? Experienced bidders don't do that, people with that much feedback have been around for a while and no one increases bids like that. At least no one that I know or seen.

I think there is much more to this auction than just a rookie getting killed financially. I think there is some serious shill bidding and backroom collaboration here. THAT is even worse than "unsearched rolls" from la-la land.

Bidding like that is a habit more then he has picked up. I see that all the time. Don't ask me to explain it. They just do it. As for his 43% with this seller, he bid 13 times on this auction. 13 bids on just this auction of his 30 bids = 43%. If you like windmills, keep tilting, but you have shown nothing yet.

Didn't realize the 13 bids would count like that. "You have shown nothing yet" Chill out buddy, this isn't a legal case, I was just looking at the auction.
